Hello! I’m Andy and I work in city government. My focus at work is policy on public transit, street design, and community engagement. My background is in urban planning and customer service. I’ve spent time working on:
- implementing a strategic plan for public transit
- reviewing street designs to give priority to buses
- communicating changes and motivations to the public
- learning and working with community members
Beyond work, I am very much into Japanese culture and society, planes trains and automobiles, photography of urban spaces, food, and technology. Things that I love right now

- Hayao Miyazaki films
- Documentaries on so many topics
- Small apartments and tiny homes
I’m also a member of the lay Buddhist group Soka Gakkai International which forms a lot of the foundation of who I am, how I view the world, and why I do what I do.
I’m excited to spend time writing some thoughts here.
